Christmas Present Appeal

This year Willow Brook and CJ Hole are teaming up with FareShare South West to collect Christmas gifts and luxury treats to add to the festive food parcels that FareShare will be distributing throughout the Christmas period.

Food poverty rates are soaring due to the effects of Covid. Thousands of families, children, elderly and vulnerable people face food insecurity as a daily reality.

FareShare, and their volunteers are tackling hunger and food waste in the South West, making a huge difference to tens of thousands of people.

Last year FareShare South West’s Christmas operation saw them deliver 3,840 festive food parcels. And this year they are set to distribute 300 festive food parcels a day throughout December to people in Bristol suffering from income deprivation.

Families with children are almost twice as likely to be facing hunger as this winter approaches. 26% of children in Bristol live in households where there isn’t enough money to receive a nutritionally balanced diet. FareShare will be supporting three-quarters of a million children and families in the UK, through a network of community groups providing vital food supplies.

The teams at Willow Brook and Cj Hole are hoping to collect as many Christmas gifts for children as possible between now and Tuesday 14th December to add to the Festive food parcels that will be going out to young families, giving children something fun to open this Christmas!

All gifts will need to be new/ unused and unwrapped and can be for babies and children aged 0 – 16 years.

Also festive treats such as Mince Pies, Chocolates, Biscuits and cakes are very welcome and appreciated, and will add an extra little sparkle to someone’s Christmas!
